What is Digital Art?

Digital art is like any other form of art. The main difference is that it is drawn or painted with digital tools rather than conventional pencil and paper.

My digital landscape art is drawn on an iPad Pro using an app called Procreate. I draw and paint my work using an Apple pencil on the iPad screen in the same way as I would draw graphite or coloured pencil drawings onto art paper.

The app gives me the ability to use different brushes and colours, the same as other form of paintings. The main difference is that there is no physical original as it is kept as a file on the computer, rather like digital photos. The computer has no direct involvement in what is created, it still has to come from me via the Apple pencil drawing and painting onto the screen.

The finished art can then be printed off onto 260grm white matt photo card to sell as either framed or unframed prints of various sizes.
